LANDFILL:
This video location is on top of a landfill
site where there is long grass and unusual plants present. We have chosen this
as a potential video location because there will no –one around - due to the
landfill being unused for many years. This lonely location is what we will need
to create a solitude effect in the video, to ensure the camera is focused on
our artist. In addition the range of height is very effective in this video
because it will give the video more depth and makes the visuals more intense.
Also in this location there is a 360 view of Leicestershire available, which
could be effective to reiterate the loneliness factor and the sadness within
the song lyrics. As well as this, this location
will give effective lighting effect - due to it being high up and closer to the
sun. Also in the setting there is a great view of the clouds in the sky because
of height of the landfill, which would give a dramatic appearance to the video.
There is a lot of open space available on this landfill, l meaning there are
many different locations on it, which would be suitable for our music video.
ALLEYWAY:
This location is very green and shows a very
naturistic environment, which would look effective when used with the other
outside locations. It is a long path leading from a restaurant carpark to a
single track country road, which has woodland either side of it. This secluded
location will similarly effectively show the loneliness within the lyrics. I
think that the earthy colours will be a good base for any colour scheme within
the outfits that our artist is wearing. This location will be effective for
running shots within the music video due to the long path. Also due to the
alleyway being closed on both sides with woodland it means that it gives a
closer shot with the client framed within it, making the shots within this
location focused on the artist.
SWING:
This location is quite unusual because it
doesn’t really have any relevance to the song, but it does within the overall
theme and concept of the song. The overgrown factor to this location would be
very effective in making this video more natural looking. In addition, it will ensure the shots fit
within the concept of sadness because of the derelict swing, which could be
considered as broken -this fits within the theme within the lyrics of sadness. Also
the earthy colour tones fit with my other potential locations, meaning that it
will make the video flow better and give a more effective visual. Also it gives
us the chance to try and incorporate a different stance into our music video
because the swing will allow us to do some sitting down shots of our artist.
MINI CAR:
This location could also be a unique visual
because it has no relevance to the song directly, but could look effective if
used correctly. The potential stance of our artist sitting within the car is
one that we think would appear like she is trying to get away from her life,
which relates to the concept of the song. In addition the mini car is bright red meaning
that it would make an effective contrast to the boring earthy colours within
the other locations, as well as this it would allow my artist to coordinate her
outfit colours to the red. We thought that potentially we could park the car
down a country lane, meaning that it would still fit with the other locations
but just be slightly different with the pop of red colour. This location would
give a more interesting and appealing appearance for the audience because this
kind of car is unusual to see and is very unique to have in a music video.
BLUE BACKGROUND:
This location would be effective in my music video because it would create an aesthetic contrast between the outside shots- due to it being a solid colour. In addition it would add a more diverse location because most of my potential locations are outside, meaning that it would be give my video more of a diverse appearance, making it more interesting for the audience to watch. As well as this, the location would make my artist the main focus because of it being a smooth solid background, which would allow me to present the star image idea more effectively in my music video. In addition the pastel blue coloured background will allow my artist to match her costumes to the colour more effectively. The colour blue will reflect the coldness of our artist's emotional state, which will make our music video reflect the emotion within the lyrics of the song more effectively. Also an inside shot would give us the opportunity to perfect the lighting and make it appear slightly different to the outside shots, creating a more diverse video- visually. Also due to the plain simplistic background, it makes the location present the same concept of loneliness.
FIELD:
This location would allow for some other
stances for my artist - such as sitting or lying down in the grass, which would
look very effective in making my video look more natural. In addition the field
would be composed of the colours green and brown - meaning it would match the
other locations that we are potentially using. Also there will be no other
people in shot due to fields being lonely, thought provoking places - which is
what we would want the audience to gather from the shots; so it shows the
lyrics through the locations. However I think we would want to do something
with the appearance of the field to make the shot within this location more visually
exciting, so it makes our music video more unique.
DOORWAY:
This location is quite rustic and urban
looking due to the brick wall. I believe that this colour scheme will match the
Mini car location because it has red tones which would make the video flow
better and look more appealing. In addition, we would only film in this
location when there is no one around - to ensure we keep with the lonely
appearance throughout the video. This location would allow our artist to
perform different stances, such as leaning on the door and hitting the door -
to add more movement into the video. As well as this, this location would make
an interesting contrast to the other outside locations.
